Jazz festival Bansko
The International Jazz Festival in Bansko is the biggest summer musical event in Bulgaria. The enormous popularity which the festival enjoys among specialists and fans across the world has turned it into one of the foremost international cultural happenings in the Balkans.
The quaint old town becomes a meeting place for emblematic figures of today’s music world. The concerts are free for the public and the festival is organised with the aid of sponsors.
Traditionally, the programme features styles and groups representing almost all jazz trends. The evening concerts draw huge crowds to the open-air stage on Nikola Vaptsarov Square in downtown Bansko. Throughout the festival week jazz is also played during the day on various smaller stages in the large resort complexes and restaurants
Folklore festival
The festival aims to preserve and promote Bulgarian folklore heritage to present the colorful folk art and costumes, to promote the continuity of the younger generation and to actively involve people communicating with folklore.
Mumers carnival
Traditional mummers Easter carnival in the village Eleshnitsa. The celebration here is associated with the spring awakening of nature.
Preparation for the mummers festival continues near three months as this is the most anticipated event for local people.
Participants of the Easter festival masquerade dress in robes mummers to declare the spring awakening of nature and the resurrection of the good in people. On that day, residents of the village Eleshnitsa show their best costumes and masquerade costumes.
Attraction during the Mummer's carnival is a traditional contest and dancing. This is an incredible feast of sounds, costumes and colors. Most Bulgarian something that can be seen on Easter Sunday in the village Eleshnitsa.
